This results in slightly noisier operation and a much slower flash-sync speed of 1/180th second (versus the X100's 1/4000th second). However, Fujifilm was betting on the X-Pro1 and this new X Mount as an alternative to other ILC systems, competing with brands with legacy mounts going back 50-60 years, mostly SLRs. The X-Pro1 utilises a focal-plane shutter rather than the leaf shutter that the X100 has, much like a regular DSLR camera. Fujifilm was mostly known for all-in-one cameras, even back in the film days, or building cameras on existing mounts (eg. It had been decades since Fujifilm made a proprietary ILC system. At the time, it seemed crazy that Fujifilm was betting on nostalgia, legacy design and function, with some unique technological solutions (X-Trans colour filter array, hybrid viewfinder) for their all-new digital interchangeable lens camera system. As mentioned in my review, Ill take the added size and weight of the X-Pro2 if it gets me a tougher body and weather sealing any day. The X-Pro1 was Fujifilm’s first X Mount camera and was launched with three new prime lenses: XF18mmF2 R, XF35mmF1.4 R, and XF60mmF2.4 R MACRO. The rear LCD is 3-inches in size and packs a 1,230k-dot resolution. For myself, I imagined the X-Pro1 would feel like shooting with an old school rangefinder film camera, but with all the advantages of shooting digital. The X-Pro1's viewfinder isn't quite as sharpit's a 1,440k-dot LCDbut with peaking it's very useable for manual focus. It was an exciting time for rangefinder enthusiasts, especially those of us who couldn’t afford to buy into the Leica M digital system. I kept the Nikon 50mm f/1.4 that I was using on the GH2 because it's a great lens and used on the X-Pro1, gives me 75mm equivalent, close enough to 85mm full frame macro for my use. I remember when Fujifilm first announced the X-Pro1 back in 2012. To start off, I would like to say that I sold a Panasonic GH2 + 14mm f/2.5 and a Nikon 55-200mm DX lens before purchasing the X-Pro1 + 35mm. Ten Years Later: The Fujifilm X-Pro1 Re-Review
